THE OLYMPIC FACTOR

Every four years the Olympics rolls around capturing the attention and time of people around the globe.  In America, the timing with the Presidential campaign creates a bit of distraction and focus of citizens.

The Olympic Factor - a subtle, yet notable 'interruption' of the American political process.  This factor draws attention by major media away from the mass coverage of the Presidential campaigns and on the Olympic games.  When the public is not tuned in to political news, the campaigns dive in to advertising to stay relevant in the eyes of the electorate.  During this four week period the campaigns will be scrapping for as much coverage of their candidate as they can capture.  

An example of how the Olympics can be a plus and minus to a campaign is Mitt Romney's timing for his Vice-Presidential announcement.  Prior to the start of the Olympics, there was quite a build up and hype about a Republican VP announcement.  Quickly pundits and insiders said the announcement would be made after the Olympics had concluded.  Analysts on Fox News commented how the announcement would be more effective after the Olympics to take advantage of the lapse of newsworthy topics.

How could the Olympics have such a effect?  Americans love to support our Olympic athletes.  And the media wants to be in position to take advantage of increased listener/viewership with additional coverage and Olympic features.  In essence, the media wants to boost their ratings to bring in more advertising revenue.  The media is going where the 'money' is.  The television and radio stations already know they have a gold mine of political ads waiting to take them through Election Day.

Just enjoy the Olympic factor now, because in a few weeks the news media and campaign ads will be building to a frenzy till November 6.  By the way we are less than 100 days till the big day.

U.S. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ENDORSES GEORGE ALLEN

Virginia's George Allen continues to receive the accolades from businesses and leaders throughout the Commonwealth and beyond.  His latest high profile business endorsement came from the United States Chamber of Commerce.

George Allen received the official, public endorsement from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce at a event in McLean, Virginia.  Representatives from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce stated Allen's strong legacy of supporting businesses large and small.  They cited his consistent and unyielding support for business development and the ability of businesses to grow employment.  Allen has had a continued strong record and ability to partner with business growth as Virginia's Governor, U.S. Congressman and Senator.

The former Virginia Governor and U.S. Senate candidate, George Allen, delivered the following remarks upon receiving the endorsement:

“I’m honored to have earned the very meaningful endorsement of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce,” said George Allen. “As Susan and I have traveled throughout Virginia, we’ve listened to the concerns of hardworking small business owners worried about a government that taxes without listening and regulates without understanding. We stand shoulder to shoulder with Virginia job creators who need lower taxes, reasonable regulations, and more affordable energy and health care to be able to grow and hire again. I share the U.S. Chamber’s commitment to a less intrusive federal government to help American businesses have the freedom and opportunity to compete and succeed. We need to send a message to the world that ‘America is Open for Business Again.’”

Allen continues to reach out to businesses and communities throughout Virginia.  George and Susan Allen have traversed the Commonwealth listening and interacting with Virginians to receive first hand accounts of business leaders.  Both have hosted numerous business round table meetings to assure the message of business owners resonates with the United States Senate.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world's largest business federation representing the interests of more than 3 million businesses of all sizes and sectors throughout America.

THE FAST & FURIOUS TRUTH

The mainstream media has seemingly once again continued to be the voice piece of the left.  This time in a effort to blur the facts behind Operation Fast and Furious.

Statements by Obama administration blowhards, like Press Secretary Jay Carney, are again trying to link their warped programs to the Bush administration.  Apparently a attempt to cover all the flak that transpired since the contempt charge on U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder.  Holder was formally charged with contempt for withholding thousands of government documents about Operation Fast and Furious in June.

Here's the angle Carney and the left are taking.  The facts behind a similar operation that began and ended during the Bush administration, called Operation Wide Receiver, is being attempted to link to Obama's Operation Fast and Furious.  Although both involve firearms trafficking, the similarity and link to current justice operations is distinct and separate.

AGENT BRIAN TERRY

The sad and unfortunate first point is that Operation Fast and Furious resulted in the death of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.  Firearms used by illegals fired upon Brian Terry in December of 2010 were identified as weapons released during Fast and Furious.  An additional shooting of an American ICE Officer, Jamie Zapata, is also being investigated for involving a F&F weapon.  Mexican officials have confirmed Fast and Furious weapons have been used in hundreds of deaths of Mexican civilians.  Weapons used during Operation Wide Receiver were not used in any known loss of life.

Gun tracing versus gun walking.  Operation Wide Receiver was under the premise that each of the weapons would be traceable and track able.  RFID electronic tracking chips were insert in Operation Wide Receiver weapons.  These chips were tracked to find out where and by whom the weapons would go.  Eventually cartels and criminal illegals discovered the chips or developed ways to evade tracking.  When the ATF discovered the tracking had been discovered they ended the operation.  

However, Operation Fast and Furious functioned as a gun walking program.  There were no efforts to track the path of the weapons.  Thousands of weapons were knowingly released by ATF agents to cartel and Mexican criminals.  The ATF only recorded the serial numbers of each weapon with no tracking device.  After some time ATF agents questioned the open release of these weapons to cartels.  The U.S. Justice Department instructed the ATF agents to 'stand down' and let the weapons continue to flow into Mexico.

Three other significant facts completely separate the two operations.  First, Operation Fast and Furious involved about 2,000 firearms.  Operation Wide Receiver used 300 weapons.  Secondly, Operation Wide Receiver actively communicated its actions and intentions with the Mexican government.  Under Eric Holder, the Mexican government was not informed.  And, the Mexican government did not find out until the U.S. House Oversight Committee exposed the operation.  Third, and most significantly, Operation Wide Receiver  was shut down in 2007 when the ATF reported the tracking devices were ineffective  This was almost two years before Obama took office.  Operation Fast and Furious began in 2009 and ended in 2010 soon after the death of Agent Brian Terry.  

Update.  The Mexican government has recovered about 700 of the Fast and Furious weapons found at crime scenes and drug cartel busts.  In April of 2012, a United States traffic stop by Phoenix law enforcement confiscated 43 weapons tied to Operation Fast and Furious.  Leaving about 1,300 weapons still at large and in possession of criminals.

Just the facts.  And the facts are clear and undeniable.  The Obama administration and Eric Holder must be held accountable for the reckless use of Justice Department and ATF resources used during Fast and Furious.  Any attempts by the administration to smear the truth and sidestep accountability is yet again another political ploy by the era of Barack Obama.

REMEMBER GOVERNOR TIM KAINE?

You know, Democrat Tim Kaine.  The former Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia from 2006-10.  Virginia reflects back to how the Kaine era was a period of economic stall and uncertainty with government.

For four years Virginia experienced a period of economic turbulence under Tim Kaine.  The path chosen by Governor Kaine left Virginians wondering where the jobs were and perplexed businesses if the Commonwealth would continue a pro-business relationship.  

In many regards, Kaine was padded with good economic policies by his predecessor, Mark Warner.  Even though Warner was a Democrat, his business policies bolstered the Commonwealth through the first years of Kaine's administration.  

As time moved on during the Kaine administration, the economic efforts by prior Governors wore off.  And Virginians realized the shortfalls of having Tim Kaine in a level of authority.

So, Governor Kaine, what happened those last years of your term as Governor?  

• He proposes a $1 Billion tax increase on Virginians the first week in office.  Violating a campaign promise to avoid tax increases.
• Unemployment dramatically increases in the Commonwealth from 3.5% in 2006 to 7.8% in 2008.
• In 2009, the General Assembly kills Kaine's second attempt to pass a $1+ Billion tax on Virginians.
• Businesses experience "Obama" like policies designed to increase regulation and fees.  Pro-business environment built by George Allen, Jim Gilmore and Mark Warner is diminished statewide.
• In 2009, Kaine closes 18 interstate rest areas.  His action impacted one of Virginia's key industries-tourism.  Secondary businesses dependent on tourism begins to suffer.
• Tim Kaine takes action which cuts higher education funding by 25% and phases in a 30% state tuition increase.
• Audit shows financial mismanagement under Kaine.  Report exposes $1.2 Billion in unused transportation funds.
• Kaine spends his last year as Governor serving as Chairman of the Democratic National Committee.  As the Commonwealth deals with declining economic conditions and budget constraints, Kaine goes on nationwide fundraising tour for the Democrat National Committee.
• In 2010, Tim Kaine ends his term as Governor.  During his term he proposed a total of over $4 Billion in new taxes.

Fortunately, Virginia has term limits for our Governor.  As a side note, Governor McDonnell restored job growth, strengthened business relations and balanced the budget within one year after Kaine left office.

Kaine's record as Governor is in short embarrassing for Virginia.  His lack of leadership and indecision cost Virginians jobs and undermined the fiscal reliance in their government.  

Considering Tim Kaine's record and his impact upon the Commonwealth.  Perhaps Virginians, in reflection, can now clearly understand the faults of a Kaine candidacy for United States Senate.

ROMNEY EMBARKS ON INTERNATIONAL TRIP

Mitt Romney is planning to make a substantial trip to Europe and Israel beginning July 26.  Romney will mix in a stop at the Olympics along with visitation with several heads of state in Poland and Israel.  Here's a brief review of Mitt Romney's itinerary.

Governor Romney starts his trip on July 26 in England.  The Republican Presidential candidate will meet throughout the day with much of the leadership of the United Kingdom's Parliament.  Including time with Prime Minister David Cameron, Foreign Secretary William Hague, former Prime Minister Tony Blair and others.

July 27-28. Mitt Romney will begin a series of events and meetings involving the Olympics.  He will meet with several U.S. Olympic team athletes and attend the opening ceremonies.  He will also have a meeting with Ireland's Taoiseach (Prime Minister) Enda Kenny.

On Sunday, July 29, Mitt heads to a major visit to Israel.  He will deliver a public address at a time to be announced.  He will have a series of joint and individual meetings with Israeli leaders.  Including:  Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Shimon Perez.  He will also have the opportunity to meet with Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayyad.

Mitt Romney will wrap-up his trip with two days (July 30-31) in Poland.  Romney will tour several historic sites in the country.  He has meetings planned with several of Poland's leaders.  Including:  Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski and President Bronislaw Komorowski.  He will also meet with former President Lech Walesa.

This trip will help showcase Mitt Romney's foreign relation attributes as well as strengthen confidence with the Israelis.  His appearance at the 2012 Olympics will be a good connection with his leadership of turning around the 2002 winter Olympics in Salt Lake.

As a side note:  During Barack Obama's term as President, he has not visited Israel, but did visit Palestine and other countries in the Middle East.  Obama last visited Israel as a Senator during his 2008 political campaign for the Presidency.  Obama recently stated he would visit Israel as President sometime during his second term.

LEFT WING BIAS OF MR. JEFFERSON'S HOMETOWN

Charlottesville is a hotbed of liberal, progressive politics in the Commonwealth of Virginia.  Any conservative located near Charlottesville is no doubt aware of the bias of the local government and media.  The very culture of a large university and heavy Democrat population have given rise to years of political tilt to the far left.

What would turn Mr. Jefferson over in his grave are the harboring of progressive ideals in the area.  The local City Council is stacked with progressives who coddle every social program imaginable.  There has been only one conservative councilman in over ten years.  For year's the council has operated as a tool of the left.  Advancing and funding measures like: green energy, policies suppressing small business, expensive recycling, curtailing transportation projects, and more.  

One local NBC affiliate, WVIR NBC 29, acts as a nucleus to promote and advance local left wing agenda.  For years, NBC 29 has had a clear and consistent record of featuring the left and minimizing the right.  The station has recently upped their coverage of anything and I mean anything related to a Democrat running for office.  Reporters from the station followed Obama all over the state during a recent visit.  They covered everything imaginable with a recent visit scheduled, then cancelled by Michelle Obama.  Other progressives they actively promote include: Tim Kaine, Tom Perriello, Creigh Deeds, John Douglass, Terry McAuliffe, Chris Dumler, and more.

Here's a quick example of how the station covers the right.  Should a local conservative event occur, a WVIR reporter may cover the event.  But, you can almost guarantee they'll bury the story after the headlines and they'll balance it with a feature about a left wing candidate or initiative like Organizing for Virginia. 

Speaking of Organizing for Virginia, the city is infested with far left groups.  Most of the groups are a little muted in their vigilance, yet they are very embedded in the progressive machine.  Some of the local lefty groups include:  Code Pink, Move On, Socialist Party, and more percolating at the University of Virginia.

Truly, Mr. Jefferson's Democrat roots have been twisted into a local political machine that is hell bent on continuing a far left push.  The lefts activism in Charlottesville is veiled by academia and exalted by media influence.  Is this what our American founders had in mind?

THE CASE AGAINST CONDI RICE

From political analysts to right wing media pundits, it seems as they've made up their mind.  Unfortunately, the beltway conservatives have circled the wagons in support of Condoleezza Rice for the choice as Mitt Romney's Vice-President.    We'll there are a few, the proud, the conservative that completely disagree.

Okay, this might not be very pretty, but Condi Rice is wrong for Mitt Romney, conservatives and America.  Although she is the former Secretary of State and National Security Advisor, she is not the choice candidate to move this country forward with the conservative movement in 2012.  She possesses political baggage which would be deadly to the Republican ticket and red meat for the Obama political machine.  Here's a point by point breakdown of Condoleezza Rice:

Presidential?  As Dick Cheney has said, the first question of a Vice-President is can they be President when needed?  Yes, she was the former National Security Advisor and Secretary of State, but no she is not considered capable of being President of the United States.  Many post-Bush administration officials including Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton all have publicly stated serious miss givings about her abilities to perform.  Documented comments include she is considered 'naive', 'misinformed' and a 'academic' who doesn't fully grasp the reality of global relations.

Red Meat.  She is a Bush girl.  Through and through.  The Obama political machine is salivating at the chance to run against her.  Having her as the VP candidate would help solidify their message that Romney is looking to return to the 'failed economics' of George Bush.  You know how Obama and his team constantly refer to and blame George Bush.  With the Bush girl on the Romney ticket, this will validate Obama political twist of a return to Bush economics.  In addition, she was also very involved in authorizing water boarding of terrorists.

As I said this is not going to be pretty.

Conservative?  Nope, not really.  On the social side, she is pro-choice.  A big no-no for social conservatives.  She has exhibited moderating positions on foreign policy as she transitioned back to academia after the Bush administration.

Connectivity with America.  From the middle class to lower class, she will come across as an elitist.  Don't get me wrong, Condi Rice is extremely well spoken when addressing foreign policy.  However, she is at her core a Stanford academic.  She is a professor and former Standford Provost.  And, sounds like it.  This is her downfall.  She talks policy.  And that's her comfort zone.  How will she connect with all Americans?  Will she be able to speak to all levels of the American populous about all topics facing our country.  Will she be able to talk to farmers, conservatives, blacks, Hispanics, blue collar workers and working moms?  Running for the second most powerful office in America is more than just talking foreign policy.

Personal Tidbits.  She is not married and has no children.  She was briefly engaged to an American football player in the 1970's.  Perhaps another angle of attack for the Obama machine.  She is an accomplished pianist.  Again, another area for the opposition to paint her as an elitist and out of touch with America.

Politics.  She has never run or held an elected office.  Her focus has been advisory and a foreign policy wonk.  Her ability to campaign relentlessly is unknown.  Her ability to debate on a national, high stakes level with public scrutiny is completely untested.  She was a democrat until the election of 1979 (Reagan/Carter).

Knowledge of Issues.  One cannot dispute her foreign policy and national security knowledge.  However, her ability to effectively grasp all, and I mean all, issues facing America is completely unknown and untested. Will she be able to effectively and in full campaign mode fluidly communicate to America her positions on health care, taxation, national debt, energy resources, education, immigration and on and on?  When is the last time you heard a Condi Rice speech about any domestic issue?

Benefits for the GOP Ticket?  Typically, an individual being considered for Vice-President will bring some strengths to firm up a victory for the Presidential ticket.  Some assets include:  having strength from a key battleground state, ability to bring in coalition support from social conservatives, having strengths to offset the ticket, and having the ability to bring in key voter segments like Hispanics, blacks or the Tea Party. No, she comes to the ticket empty of assets.  She has bounced around the states.  She is from California, but has no pull with Golden State voters.  Social conservatives will turn their back on her pro-choice stance.  At the beginning of the Bush Administration, she had some appeal with black voters.  At the end of the Bush term, her support virtually vanished with minority groups.  She is not politically active, so she lacks coalition support from the Tea Party and others.

Now this has been a little painful, as I truly admire her gifts of foreign policy.  Yet, when you discover Condoleeza Rice's naivety, lack of political expertise, and empty assets for the GOP ticket, you have to see that this is not her time.  And, for what's a stake to assure victory for Mitt Romney, she possesses too much Bush red meat and a multitude of unknowns of her ability to be a national candidate.

Based on Dick Cheney's first question, no she is not capable of serving when needed as President of the United States of America.  Sorry Condi.  There are better options for Vice-President of the United States of America.

KAINE KEEPS DISTANCE FROM OBAMA IN VIRGINIA

What a weekend for President Obama in Virginia!  He had four rallies throughout the Commonwealth with voters ready to listen.  But where was Democrat Tim Kaine?  You know, the 'unabashed' supporter of Barack Obama's policies.

It looks like Tim Kaine was dancing around Barack Obama's appearances.  Perhaps an effort to minimize on camera time with the President.  This seems to be a growing trend with Democrats running for office nationwide.  Yet, why would the former Chairman of the DNC, avoid media time with Obama?  Is Tim Kaine worried about his association with Barack Obama?  Is Tim Kaine more worried about the election?

Well, here's the score from the Obama swing through Virginia.  The only one joint appearance with media coverage occurred in Hampton.  They paused to waive to the crowd and moved on.  Now, on to Roanoke. In Roanoke there were about 2,000+ supporters present.  Tim Kaine made a short speech then left the event with no appearance with Obama.  Now on to Saturday.  Kaine completely skipped the event in Glen Allen and apparently the same in Centerville.  

On to another aspect of the Kaine/Obama distancing.  Kaine's campaign hardly mentioned the President being in Virginia through what is usually an onslaught of emails to contributors.  In addition, Kaine's social media sites were noticeably vacant of mention of the Democrat President's appearances.

So, Tim how about deciding whether you back Obama or not.  You can't have it both ways.

And, while you're at it.  When are you going to fundraise here in Virginia?  You know.  The Commonwealth of Virginia.

"OUTSOURCER IN CHIEF" VIDEO FRAMES OBAMA'S RECORD

The Obama campaign has brought the issue of outsourcing of jobs to the forefront of the latest barrage of political advertisements.  What is most needed is for the Romney campaign to have an effective counter to the Obama accusations.

First of all, a point of clarity.  Mitt Romney officially left Bain Capitol in February of 1999.  Mitt Romney has signed an affidavit with the Federal Election Commission swearing to that date of severance from Bain Capitol.  Any "outsourcing" by Bain occurred well after Romney left the company.

Now what is more interesting is the use of billions of United States taxpayer funds by the Obama administration to fund jobs for green energy projects in foreign countries.  Billions from  Obama's stimulus and green energy bills have been siphoned off to other countries when jobs were needed here in the United States.

One of the most tactful videos produced to push back against the Obama campaign's message about the export of jobs is titled "Barack Obama: Outsourcer in Chief".  The video is produced by the Republican National Committee.  The video is quite effective using news clips and data showing how Obama took action to spread money and jobs around to other countries.

The RNC also launched a new website to expose the negative policies during his term that have stalled America's economy and job production.  The website is www.ObamanomicsOutsourced.com.

Many names have hit the airwaves in recent weeks including Senator Marco Rubio, former Secretary of State Condi Rice, Governor Chris Christie and more.  Ann Romney was quoted a week ago that a 'woman' nominee would make a great choice.  Some other names have been floated as trial balloons through the media.  Including Senator Kelly Ayotte and Senator Rob Portman.  No doubt more names will surface leading up to the RNC Convention in late August.

CONSERVATIVE TALKERS' COLLECTIVE AMBUSH OF ROMNEY

Point of reference.  As of June 5, Mitt Romney surpassed the number of delegates necessary to win the Republican nomination for President of the United States.  Right?  Right!  Now would someone tell a couple of high profile radio personalities to turn the heat off of Romney?  

Seriously, there are some top flight, national conservative talk show hosts still laying it to Romney.  Pelting him on policy quibbles and conservative quality.  And the point is?  Who knows.  You would think they'd turn their full verbal arsenal on Barack Obama by now.  

National personalities such as Mark Levin, Michael Savage, Laura Ingraham, and Billy Cunningham are still dressing down Mitt Romney during their shows.  Nit picking him on everything from policy positions to  personality to experience.  Other media types such as Fox's Greta Van Susteren, Sheppard Smith and Lou Dobbs, also are talking like the GOP primary is still in full swing.

It's almost like they're using the same talking template when they begin to hit Romney.  First, you get the 'Don't get me wrong I support Romney' statement.  Next, they'll proceed with a full segment or, for the radio talkers, a whole hour picking on Romney.  Now, I do understand these talkers maintaining their essence of being fair and balanced with their analysis.  I do in my own right.  However, it comes to a point when you as a Republican/conservative need to draw your full attention on ousting Barack Obama and the left.

Here's one more point I want to make, and this is what troubles me the most.  Especially since we are less than four months from Election Day.  For those of us who enjoy Levin, Savage, Beck, Dobbs and others, it is their collective negative tone versus Romney that is the issue.  Again, I fully appreciate their flair for being analytical about the left and the right.  Yet, so many of these talkers are dedicating a tremendous amount of time talking down Romney.  Individually they are on their own broadcast island based on the style of their show.  However, collectively their "doubting Thomas' tone is becoming deafening to millions of conservatives.  The result is perhaps a unintended suppression of voter enthusiasm and energy to back Romney.

It is also interesting to hear some of these high profile talkers whine and complain that Mitt Romney has not been on their show for some time.  Well, I wonder why?  Would you go on a show that is still firing ammo at you?

I mean, at some point as a conservative you need to get off of your soap box and back your candidate.  All the way to victory.

If we the conservative movement are to defeat Barack Obama and win back the U.S. Senate, we need these talkers to be turning their verbal canons away from Mitt Romney.  At this point, we need these talkers to be pumping up the morale of their listeners and motivating them to rally behind the candidacy of Mitt Romney.

The clock is ticking America.  There are now less than 116 days until the election.  We have our candidate.  It will take all of grassroots America to take back our country.  Let's hope our conservative talkers will get on board, 100%.

OBAMA'S NANNY STATE BY FOOD STAMPS

The left and the Obama machine were very busy getting ready for the 2012 election.  A monsoon of government social programs have tainted the will of dependents during a time of economic decline.

From 2008-2010, Barack Obama along with Harry Reid in the Senate and Nancy Pelosi in the House padded federal coffers to reach a level of dependency that the masses now can't seem to resist.  They loaded so much cash into programs, (like the federal food stamp program), that have corrupted the essence of self reliance and turned the American psyche into one of dependency on the government.  

That's right America.  Barack Obama has successfully moved our country into a "nanny state" mentality.  Those now forced to take food stamps after three plus years of dismal job prospects, now find themselves part of the system.  A deliberate tactic by the left to slowly move the U.S. from a free market economy to a socialized economy.  This is the the work of the progressive left in America.

Remember, the continual verbal drum beat of Barack Obama, Reid and Pelosi for 'social justice' in 2008?  Well, they're about there.  You give Obama four more years and you can bet their plans for social justice for all will be in full economic force.

Another point to this dependency.  Obama and the Democrats had a couple of power years (2008-10) to tee things up for 2012.  They laid out the cash to push Americans taking a hand out when most Americans had no choice during a broken economy.  Now, those same Americans are dependents of Barack Obama.  He has fed them by food stamps and housed them by paying their rent/mortgage with unemployment payments.  These citizens have been dependent for the longest time in history on social funding.  Has Obama now lured these Americans into the mindset of a vote for Obama is a vote for food?

This might sound harsh.  And, is to some point when you think about the drastic measures hundreds of thousands of unemployed families have had to endure for many years.  Yet, the Obama nanny state continues and the thought of how that dependency will effect the ballot box is a factor to consider.

VIRGINIA VICTORY CENTERS EXPANDING IN 5TH DISTRICT

The American Maverick has learned Republican organized Virginia Victory 2012 is dramatically expanding the number of VA Victory centers throughout the Commonwealth.

Sources from the Republican Party of Virginia and campaign staff have indicated that in a matter of a week there will be multiple new centers opened statewide.  Three confirmed new centers will be in Charlottesville, Danville and Lynchburg.  More victory centers are soon to be officially announced by VA Victory 2012.

The Charlottesville, Danville and Lynchburg centers will be crucial for the Virginia's 5th District.  The 5th District has been expanded significantly due to redistricting.  The 5th District now stretches from Warrenton all the way south down Route 29 to Danville/NC border.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!

Independence Day celebrations are an opportunity for America to exhibit it's pride and respect for our fore fathers.  As we head towards a critical election season, this is the time to show your patriotism.

Our founding fathers gave so much to assure our independence from England.  All the signers of the Declaration of Independence knew that upon signing the declaration that day in Philadelphia, they were putting their lives, their wealth and their family at risk to the British.  The signers in fact were committing treason against the oppressive regime' of the British.  All for the birth of a great nation.

Remember, our founders efforts to create our country.  The struggles of Adams, Franklin, and Jefferson to create the document to separate us from England.  The back and forth contentious debates between the many delegates from the south and the north.  All working to create America.

Americans honor our troops for sustaining our freedoms and security.  Yet, do we remember all of the soldiers who secured our independence?  We are quick to remember our veterans and active service men and women in modern day war.  But, shall we reach back in time to remember our colonial troops of the American Revolution?   Keep close to your heart the thousands of American colonials and the leadership of George Washington who faced down the British all the way to victory at Yorktown.

Yes, America has an incredible, storied history.  A history to be proud of.  A history to share so generations will know our passion for this country.  I cite that America's passion for history emboldens our pride.  Each of us shows our passion in many ways.  Whether it's participating in your local Independence Day parade, celebrating with friends and family with festive fireworks or talking with a youngster about our founders.

Americans enjoy your celebrations this Independence Day!  Forever let our citizens have a passion for our history.  May we all profoundly exude our love for our founders as we look to this year's election.

LEFTIST SMEAR CAMPAIGN REARING HEAD IN VIRGINIA

As typical with the far left politicos, when out of ideas, smear the right.  This tactic has been most notable on a national level.  Now, it seems this is the method of choice of the left wing/Democrats against conservative U.S. Senate candidate, George Allen.

As noted above, politics from the left can get a bit hairy when they run dry with popular ideas.  They'll divert from hot issues in which they have no tangible solution.  Hot issues in the Commonwealth and America continue to be jobs, economy and debt.  From the White House to Richmond, the left and the Democrats are out of ideas and ready for a fight.  That leads to a recent revelation by The American Maverick.  

First a little history.  In 2006, the left had deployed what is known as a 'tracker' to follow then U.S. Senator and former Governor George Allen. This tracker would taunt, trail and video the candidate at every public appearance just hoping to film a unseemly moment.  Basically, like a mosquito that will not go away.  And, you get to a point of frustration that you must squash it.  The 2006 Democrat tracker got the film he worked for.  And, the left exploited the moment for a absolute character smear of the former Governor.

The American Maverick has investigated an emergence of a new, negative smear campaign being launched by left wing activists in Virginia against the sterling character of United States Senator candidate, George Allen.  A group in Virginia with strong ties to the left has started a Twitter account in an attempt to exploit the Democrats efforts in 2006 to defame Governor George Allen.  The Twitter account attempts to mock the left's perception of Allen.  Noted on Twitter are racial remarks not stated by Allen, but are completely fabricated quotes to smear his image.  Another account has also been established to further attack his good character from a twisted, Aryan nation angle.  In addition a Twitter hashtag has been generated called #StingOperation.

This is a deplorable tactic of the left.  Yet, it underscores two aspects of what they will do in an act of political desperation.  First, as mentioned, the Democrats are out of ideas and the economy is in the tank.  Their ideas are failing in popularity amidst high unemployment and economic distress.  Secondly, the left is launching a character assassination as their last grasp to hold on to the U.S. Senate seat is quickly passing.

While more investigating is ongoing to reveal the true source, it is obvious that this is a definite tactic being deployed to enhance Democrat Tim Kaine's chances winning in November. The American Maverick will continue to monitor the Twitter posts and report back as necessary.

Another breaking development has validated racial character assassination operations by the left.  Obama for America's Virginia campaign has now deployed a push poll to influence voters about George Allen.  Push polling is a tactic that attempts to push an negative issue to the public via a polling firm in a effort to smear a candidate.  Through the push poll leftists are attempting to paint racism on his character while veiling its actions as a legitimate poll.  This is a empty tactic to elevate liberal Tim Kaine and subvert conservative George Allen.  Recent sporadic Tweets by Obama for America-VA are continuing a unseemly attack upon George Allen.  


No doubt this is just the beginning of the left's efforts to undermine conservative candidates for the 2012 election.  As the flurry of television ads breaks strong in battleground states, the rate of attempting to falsely paint a candidate is growing. And, remember, what you see on TV is just a part of the negative efforts of the left through social media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc).


Brace yourself America.  We have four months to go.  Election Day is Tuesday, November 6.  Be strong and be active.
