CNN'S CROWLEY TALKS OF ASSERTING ROLE AS PRESIDENTIAL MODERATOR

Newsflash>>> The moderator for Tuesday's Presidential Town Hall states she will interject and clarify questions during the debate.  CNN's Candy Crowley will be the moderator for tomorrow nights crucial Town Hall style debate between Republican Mitt Romney and Democrat Barack Obama.

Here is one recent quote by Candy Crowley,
“Once the table is kind of set by the town-hall questioner, there is then time for me to say, ‘Hey, wait a second, what about X, Y, Z?”

The Presidential debate commission agreement specifically states that the moderator is not to rephrase audience questions, ask her own follow-ups, or change the subject.  She’s just supposed to watch the clock and keep the debate moving along according to schedule.  In essence, Presidential moderators are to act as timekeepers, not facilitators.

However, CNN's Crowley has stated in recent weeks her intention to clarify questions from the audience and to ask her own follow-up questions.  This is counter to the Presidential debate commission's rules and counter to a agreement made by the Romney and Obama campaigns.

If you would like to voice your concern directly to the Commission on Presidential Debates,  send your comments to:  comments@debates.org  Act soon!  The debate is this Tuesday.
