Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney announced Congressman Paul Ryan of Wisconsin as his Vice-Presidential selection for the 2012 election. The announcement was made Saturday morning aside the USS Wisconsin in Norfolk.
Chairman of the Republican National Committee and long time Wisconsin friend of Ryan, Reince Preibus, provided the following statement in support of Ryan's selection,
"My friend and fellow Wisconsinite Paul Ryan will serve America admirably as the next Vice-President of the United States. Today, Americans are starving for leaders who can fix our economy and get our spending under control. Governor Romney and Congressman Ryan have the knowledge, expertise and vision we need to get America working again and our fiscal house in order. Across the country Americans are hurting, but America's Comeback Team will offer us a new direction and a brighter future. I congratulate Governor Romney on his excellent decision. This is a great day for Wisconsin and for America."
Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan continue campaigning today with large rallies planned in Ashland and Manassas. Governor Bob McDonnell and U.S. Senate candidate George Allen will also tour with America's Comeback Team today.
