CANTOR WINS PRIMARY

The evening seemed somewhat overshadowed by the statewide primary win by George Allen.  Although the cheers and support for Congressman Eric Cantor rang through the evening.  Majority Leader Eric Cantor earned a strong win for the 7th Congressional District Republican nomination versus GOP challenger, Floyd C. Bayne.

According to State Board of Election reporting, Congressman Cantor received a total of 79.4% of the vote for the nomination.  Floyd Bayne trailed significantly with 20.59%.  For the 7th District, voter turnout for the primary was 9.96% of active voters.  Results from the Virginia State Board of Election were based on 99.5% of precincts reporting.
