CPAC kicked off at 9:00am at the Marriott Wardman in D.C. American Conservative Union President Cardenas provided opening remarks.
U.S. Senator Jim DeMint just finished his speech. Demint delivered a line about the Democrats. Stating, "Getting the Democrats to work on the economy is like putting kryptonite in front of Superman."
Marco Rubio, U.S. Senator (R-FL) is now addressing a sea of conservatives in the Marriott Ballroom. Rubio made statements about Obama coming into the Presidency with a tough economy. He continued saying, "Obama had his opportunity the first two years of office. He had a Democrat House and Senate to make needed economic change." Senator Rubio continued stating conservatism can ignite America's economy. One of his best quotes, "Being an American is a blessing. Being an American takes responsibility."
Senator Rubio's message was powerful, clear and optimistic. He clearly delineated the choices of our nation. Closing by stating, "We have a historic opportunity. Together we can work to make this country better forever."
